Jazz Theory

Description

The study of music theory as it relates to jazz: diationic harmony, music notation, chord nomenclature, composition and ear training. Students learn the historial context of jazz music and the function of each instrument in a jazz ensemble.

Requirements – Grades 7 and higher, basic knowledge of diatonic major scales.

Please note: the last five minutes of class is for pack-up and students movement between classes.
